Background

About Heather Loudon

I am a restorative justice professional with over five years of experience supporting Indigenous peoples in the criminal justice, housing, and social service systems. My work has centered on trauma-informed interviewing, restorative justice practices, and culturally safe, client-centered advocacy. Currently, I serve as a Gladue Writer with the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, where I conduct trauma-informed interviews and develop sentencing reports that integrate Indigenous legal traditions, community resources, and the intergenerational impacts of colonization. In this role, I provide safe spaces for clients to share their stories—an experience that mirrors the therapeutic process and fuels my passion for counselling. I am pursuing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University to expand my skills as a trauma-informed therapist. My goal is to support healing and resilience by helping individuals process trauma, reconnect with culture, and restore self-worth.
