About Heather Mauney

I am passionate about helping to create strong communities which support all residents and help to build up the strengths and resilience of all its unique members. I believe that strong communities are the cornerstone for a strong nation. A strong community, in my opinion, is one which offers a wide variety of well-paying jobs, strong schools, reasonable taxes, a variety of strong local businesses. ample accessible food options, diversity and acceptance among its citizens and government, accessible and strong programs focused on enriching all members, and strong partnerships across disciplines. I am looking for a summer internship which will allow me the opportunity to work with youth and help develop enrichment programs. I have practical experience in program development and presentation, volunteer and employee recruitment and training, working with children and youth of all ages, public speaking, and advocacy. I have classroom experience in child and adolescent development, human sexuality, diversity, and racial equity. I am also CPR, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid (Youth and Adult) certified.
