About Heather Mireles Murphy

As the Founder and Clinical Director of The Feelings Healers, I lead a dedicated team of over 15 therapists with a shared mission: to provide compassionate and effective mental health care. With over 15 years in the field, my work is centered on guiding individuals, couples, and families through the complexities of trauma and eating disorders. My clinical approach is rooted in evidence-based practices like EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Attachment Theory, allowing me to create a tailored and transformative therapeutic experience for my clients. Beyond my clinical work, I am passionate about mentorship and community education. I run a thriving internship program for the next generation of therapists and am a frequent speaker for schools and professional organizations on topics like body image, adolescent anxiety, and eating disorder identification. I am also a proud and active board member of the Houston Group Psychotherapy Society, where I contribute to advancing our profession. My goal is to empower both clients and fellow clinicians, fostering healing, growth, and a deeper understanding of mental wellness.
