Background
About Heather Morton
I’m a professor in the Honours Bachelor of Photography Program at Sheridan College and the founder of the BIPOC Photo Mentorship Program—connecting 300+ emerging photographers with mentors across 25+ countries. I also run @hmphotoprof, where I share data-driven insights on industry trends and business models reshaping the photographic landscape. My research investigates the changing nature of professional photographic practice in the networked economy, focusing on the history and evolution of persuasive photography in commercial contexts. I also study the efficacy of mentorship as pedagogy, and I'm currently leading a comprehensive global survey on the state of image-making industries worldwide.
