About Heather Murphy

Heather has been married to her husband David for 27 years and together they are successful entrepreneurs who co-own VetCheck Urgent Care for Pets, a new venture that they launched in December 2023. VetCheck aims to provide high-quality and accessible veterinary services for pets in The Woodlands, TX, filling a gap in the market and meeting a growing demand. With over 12 years of experience in the pet industry, Heather and David have the skills, knowledge, and passion to make VetCheck a trusted and reliable partner for pet owners and their furry friends. Before starting VetCheck, Heather and David founded and ran two other businesses in the pet industry: Texas Doghouse, the first storefront doggie daycare and boarding facility in The Woodlands, and Woodlands Grooming Co, an upscale salon that offers personalized grooming services. They sold both businesses in July 2023, after achieving multiple awards and recognition for their excellence and innovation, not only in The Woodlands, but in the city of Houston as well. Heather had the distinct honor of being recognized as one of the top 50 businesswomen in Houston in 2022. She is also pursuing a certification in Clinical Pet Nutrition from The Academy of Natural Health Sciences, expected to be completed in 2025, to further enhance her expertise and credibility in pet care and wellness. Heather and David are active contributors to the community, supporting local families and animal rescue groups through various initiatives and donations.
