I am on long term medical leave from Deloitte. On Christmas Eve 2020 I had a heart attack due to a condition I had never heard of - SCAD (spontaneous coronary artery dissection). SCAD heart attacks are one of the biggest killers of young to middle aged women in Australia. While recovering from that, one of my prior cardiac conditions relating to the cardiac electrics, went haywire (literally). With the triple threat of cardiacs - valves, arteries and electrics - all becoming issues, I am now in heart failure. I remain very blessed and in a good space for recovery. While I miss the great role I had and the people I worked with - I have learnt to concentrate on the basics of life; and of course, how to quilt!
