About Heather Polowyk
My biggest motivation for working in the environmental field is considering future generations of humans, animals and plants by creating the best possible life situations. Ensuring that the environment provides the necessities for life for years to come is my main goal, and I achieve this through environmental work and animal care work. Some of my experience highlights include:1) I recently found a population of Bent Spike-rush (endangered in Ontario), which has not been seen since 2014. 2) My first banding experience was on a Louisiana Waterthrush (special concern in Ontario) nestling. 3) I have successfully vaccinated 13 baby skunks without getting sprayed. 4) Currently, I live with four rescue pets, including two cats, a dog and a bunny.
