About Heather Porter

With a passion for the outdoors and years of experience in event management the Program Manger role has been the perfect fit. Having lived by the mantra of "taking on the adventure of life" while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail USA, the 230km Larapinta Trail NT, rafting the Franklin River TAS, hiking biking and kayaking in NZ, spending 2 years dedicated to adventure racing; and being a lifetime member Scouts NSW I find it incredibly rewarding working within the outdoor education industry. Introducing the outdoors to school aged youth opens up new worlds of possibility for growth, fun, challenge and even careers. The event manager in me can't help but to love a well planned and implemented camp. This is achieved through clear communication with relevant teams and clients, detailed staff briefings, thorough contingency planning and clear documentation completed to deadlines. I enjoy both the challenges and satisfaction that comes from managing a team while guiding staff through personal and professional development and career progression ultimately resulting in a positive workplace environment and a happy team. I value productive and purpose driven work, meaning I never shy away from the challenges and ultimately take pride in all of my career and life achievements.
