About Heather Shannon

The first question I always get when I talk about my career is this:"Why would you ever leave a reporting job when you are so passionate about news?" The answer is complicated. But it comes down to this: I love telling stories. And because we live in a digital world, I'm fortunate that telling stories now takes so many forms. Transitioning from journalism to a career in marketing and public relations gave me the opportunity to tell different kinds of stories using different platforms. During my nine years at Wisconsin's two largest advertising and public relations agencies, I told my clients' stories. Now being on the client side, I have the opportunity to tell the Perlick story to both internal and external audiences. It's an exciting time to be a journalist at heart because there are thousands of business, brand and product stories just waiting to be told.
