About Heather Warren

I'm Heather Warren. I'm a student at the University of Utah where I have a GPA of 3.7. I am an anthropology major. Before the U of U, I went to the Salt Lake Community College. I completed all my introductory anthropology classes at SLCC as well. While there, I had the wonderful opportunity in May 2021 to go to Costa Rica for a study abroad. Our topic was primatology. I created a hypothesis for my topic: Mate guarding in mantled howler monkeys. I presented a poster on this topic at the undergraduate research conference in April of 2021 where I received an honorable mention. Now, I am studying at the University of Utah. I have an internship at the Natural History Museum of Utah where I assist with digitizing the vertebrate collection using a mounted camera and lightroom software. I also transcribe tags for each vertebrate specimen and scan field notes. I also work at the City Library as an assistant, where I provide excellent customer service to patrons by assisting them with technological help, giving free resources to unhoused patrons, and providing a safe space for children. I created a monthly anime program for teens where we let them sample Japanese snacks while working on crafts. In addition, I participate in the library's wellness committee to facilitate mental health in library employees. I also assist with managing collections curated to library patrons
