About Heather Wenz

I received my Bachelor’s of Kinesiology in Exercise Science with minors in Spanish and Gerontology through Indiana University in May of 2020. During my entire undergraduate career, I worked part-time for Indiana University Event Services. IU Event Services allowed me to actively serve and manage over 300 staff members. This is where I found a fascination in managing and leadership. My role as Assistant Guest Services Manager with IU Event Services ended up steering more closely into healthcare management when COVID-19 began to spread. I currently manage staff members at Indiana University’s mitigation testing sites, where I am constantly problem-solving, leading, and implementing CDC guidelines. I decided to combine my passion for healthcare with my management experience by continuing my education as a Master’s Candidate in Healthcare Management at Indiana University. Through this program, my practicum and capstone project has been to create a pilot program to increase dementia friendly training in long term care facilities, as well as to create an evaluation form to continue and improve this program. I utilize Project Management, Lean A3 Thinking, and Quantitative Analysis tools in both my practicum and coursework.
