Background
About Heather Wiggins Augustine
Heather Augustine is currently a full-time professor and academic advisor within the Landscape Horticulture program at Cincinnati State Technical & Community College. She is also a proud 2002 graduate of the program, and earned her BA from Indiana University prior in 1998, and her M.S. in Crop Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009. Previously she has worked as a horticulturist managing and designing the gardens around the Krohn Conservatory with the Cincinnati Park Board. She has also worked as a naturalist with Great Parks of Hamilton County, and worked for five years as a technician, sales and account manager and interiorscape designer with Ambius. She is a standing member of OGIA, OTF, NALP, OEFFA and the USGBC and acted as Vice-Chair of the Cincinnati chapter's Sustainable Sites Initiative from 2010-2012. In February 2012, she earned her LEED Green Associate credential. Besides a passion for horticulture, she enjoys helping plan and execute the annual Tri-State Green Industry Conference, an honor she has participated in since 2006. Currently she is working on growing the Sustainable Agriculture Management program at Cincinnati State, with a mission to put people to work ensuring food security for our local communities. From February 2015-2018, she acted as co-chair of Cultivate! Ohio Valley, whose mission was to inspire, educate and support Ohio Valley farmers of all scales and expand local food access to consumers throughout the region. From 2019-2022 she returned to the field as the In-Garden Manager, overseeing 100 community crop plots at St. Clare's Convent in Hartwell, OH. In April 2025 she earned her Master Certified Health and Wellness Coach credential through AFPA, in order to combine her horticulture, agriculture, green building expertise, personal passion for fitness and wellness, and 20 years of coaching experience to actively support others who are seeking out their best life.
