About Heather Wright

I have worked with a variety of organizations during the past ten years building a strong skill set in working with and supporting persons in need of social service assistance. I have extensive experience organizing and developing programs, services, and events to meet the needs of this population. I have four years of case management experience with Juvenile Justice Services. I have a bachelor degree in Family & Human Development with emphasis in community programs and a minor in Sociology. I enjoyed serving as the Social Services President on the Utah State University Uintah Basin campus. I am an authentic and generous person who enjoys collaborating with people and helping others achieve their goals. I have the ability, through observation and effective communication to indentify where I can help. I have significant understanding of mental health, substance abuse, education, family, job and life skill issues. My education along with work experience and continued work training has allowed me to learn much over the last ten years. I worked at the Split Mountain Youth Detention Center in Vernal Utah, as well as working for Juvenile Justice Services as a case manager in Salt Lake City. I have also worked with RISE Inc. working with disabled persons and Volunteer’s of America doing homeless outreach. For the last five years I have been at home working as a full time mother to my five year old son and two teen-age step children. During this time I have organized groups in my community, home and church. I have produced successful events and activities by petitioning authors, musicians, and specialists to contribute their time, talents, and other contributions for these events. I have continued working with at risk youth during this time as well as doing childcare in my home. I have also had a small business selling my craft and furniture refinishing items.
