About Hector Diaz

Born in Philadelphia, PA, and grew up in Bethlehem, PA. I graduated with a B.A. from DeSales University and an A.A.S from Northampton Community College focusing on Television, Film, and Radio. In high school, I went to a vocational-technical school studying Electronics Manufacturing & Engineering. I am of Puerto Rican descent with a family coming from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. I am an Emmy-nominated Technical Director for KAJA Telemundo Corpus Christi representing the Latino/Hispanic community in the South Texas market alongside a talented bilingual team under the umbrella of E.W. Scripps Company. I am currently transitioning our team into a new era of news storytelling; integrating A.I. tools into a modular newscast and revolutionizing a workflow that is faster-paced, time efficient, and reduces burn-out. Prior to Scripps, I oversaw thousands of paid programs, commercials, promos, and syndicated shows from various affiliates. I maintained 24/7 play-outs of ten television channels via WFMZ-TV & WDPN-TV covering Eastern Pennsylvania, Western New Jersey, and Delaware markets. I have been a master control operator, senior video technician, video journalist, NLE video editor, and remote control camera operator, and have lent my voice to 69 News Spanish Edition for Sound-Over-Tape dubbing. In total, I have directed, edited, and coded over 1500 news broadcasts on record. On the side, I am currently developing a free streaming service brand focused on independent filmmakers and developing an A.I. art project.
