About Hector Lara

I have been an English Language Teacher for over 10 years, with a profound understanding of the English language and Second Language Acquisition theories. Throughout my career as an EFL and ESL instructor, I have taught a diverse range of students across various age groups and for varied purposes. Recently, my focus has shifted to teaching at the university level, where I engage with students in a more academic setting. My passion for continuous learning and professional development has always driven me to enhance my skills and expand my knowledge. This commitment inspired me to pursue an MA in Applied Linguistics at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH), where I have also been working for the past 3 years. This programme has equipped me with the tools to conduct original and high-quality research in Language Learning and Language Acquisition, along with other linguistic aspects. In addition, I have been teaching at the Universidad San Sebastian (USS) for the last 4 years, further enriching my teaching experience and academic contributions. My roles at both institutions have allowed me to stay at the forefront of language education, continually enhancing my expertise and pedagogical approaches. I have published an academic paper and am actively involved in other research projects, which have deepened my understanding and contributed to the field of applied linguistics.
