About Hedy He

I have travelled the world, and of all the things learnt, one stands out amongst the rest. That is: as different as people are from each other, they are also the same. There are basic characteristics that connects us all. Regardless of culture, societal circumstances, gender, race, or any other visible or invisible divisions, we are all people who want to leave an impact on other people's lives (for better or worse). I choose for better. As Elon Musk says,"one should try to make the world a better place because the inverse makes no sense." I believe this wholeheartedly.Whether it be the little things I can do, such as volunteering for Save our Scruff and helping them transport dogs and supplies (to furever homes), or something more drastic like going to Argentina for six weeks to make a more global impact with AIESEC-at the end of the day I want my actions to affect others. Which is why I started working at a Startup company called Odyssey3D. Every action has a reaction, you will not see this exemplified more clearly than within a small company trying to scale up. Be it automating 95% of operations or negotiating major deals with large companies, I love seeing the immediate impact of my actions.Now I will start another chapter of my life with Law school, hoping to reach to higher heights and make greater impact. But I will never forget the valuable insights I've gained throughout this journey. It takes leadership and initiative to instigate change, I cannot wait for others to direct me. Equally as important, if not more, it is the strength of numbers that truly motivates change-being a good team player is crucial and a necessary give and take. Flexibility and coachability are both essential. This means stepping up to take on roles and tasks that, while outside of my responsibilities, are necessary for the success of any endeavor. Overall, more than just improving others, a focus should be on improving oneself-and to never stop.
