About Heer Khant

I am a digital nomad and a writer to put it simply who chose writing against all odds. After studying law for five years, I felt that my happiness lies in nothing else but writing. I chose to turn my passion into my profession and have worked on several creative writing, content writing, copywriting projects. I am also a freelance journalist who does human interest stories and love interviewing people. I live and breathe audio, writing audio shows, and podcasts and looking after the end-to-end production for a project. I have completed my own fiction genre novel that is in the editing stage. I have also written a research-based book for NGO 'Donate Life' on the cause of organ donation that was launched by the Governor of Gujarat Mr. O.P. Kohli in the presence of the President of India Mr. Ram Nath Kovind and the Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Vijay Rupani in May, 2018. Another book I wrote was for NGO Hearts@Work outlining their efforts to create India's first green railway station. I have also authored a coffee table book based on the life of the tribals of Chhota Udepur. Apart from that I have translated two books from Gujarati to English, out of which one is soon to be adapted for the screen. The idea of wanting to change the world comes to me naturally. In school, I was active as a social worker and my work got featured in the media as well. I won several awards in school like the Utukuru Sankuntalamma Gandhi Memorial Award in 2009 for social work, awarded by Mr. Tushar Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi's grandson) and the Times NIE Student of the Year award. School was also the time when I filed several Right To Information requests to ask questions to the government that helped spread awareness. While studying law, I ran a campaign at the time of the Nirbhaya case and gained the support of people to treat the minor convict as an adult. In college, I was the joint-head of the Juriscine Committee that linked law and cinema and organized several events where students from across India participated. My dream in life is to travel the world, write until my last breath and capture memories through photographs. I want to start an NGO of my own in the near future and embrace voluntourism. I have learnt classical singing and play the keyboard from the young age of four. I am also a moody artist, a weekend poetess, a keyboard player, a kalimba player and an avid reader. I want to be remembered long after my death through my words. I do not conform to conventional beliefs, question almost everything and do not want to be tied down in life.
