About Heet Chauhan

I've always been fascinated by materials. When I was a child, I wondered why plastic was everywhere. Around the age of 15, I began to understand the exceptional and unique properties of polymers, but at the same time, I began to understand the importance of polymer recycling and sustainability. My interest in materials continued to grow and I soon earned a bachelor's degree and then a master's degree in polymer science. I thoroughly enjoyed my studies. It was at this time that I learned a great deal about the processing, sustainability and recycling of plastic waste. I was delighted to be presented with the opportunity to utilize the skills gained during my studies to develop a product from scratch using mainly recycled material when I was writing my master thesis. Currently, I am working with UPM - The biofore company to create the future beyond fossil. My job is to develop a sustainable, biodegradable and recyclable packaging material as well as single use products along with bio composite that can replace the fossil based commercially available products.
