I am an academic physician of the old breed, one who enjoys a mix of clinical service, teaching, and research in my professional life. I also value leadership and feel privileged to have served as President of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Chair of the Sub-Board of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics of the American Board of Pediatrics, and Program Chair for the Section of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. I also have served as Project Director of a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities grant and from that position had many exciting opportunities to do advocacy with the Disabilities Community. Here in California, I contribute to First 5 San Mateo and am gearing up for more advocacy at the state level.
