About Heidi Goetsch

Please permit me to explain what being a teacher means to me. It is my belief that teaching is not just a job but a way of life. Teaching in all forms happens every day and it allows learners to have an equal chance at success. I believe that a large bulk of this learning should happen within the school walls. Students need to excel in critical thinking, problem solving and working with each other. The framework of these skills needs to be laid down in school. Once a student is able to grasp his or her ability to critically think, sort, and analyze, they will be able to use these skills to compete in the outside world. I have been able to enhance the curriculum through higher order thinking skills by updating history and relating it to modern events.
