About Heidi Kloster

Dr. Heidi Kloster is an Associate Professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine and Pediatric Complex Care Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and an Associate Program Director with the Pediatrics Residency Program. Dr. Kloster’s clinical focus is the provision of high-quality care for children with medical complexity and partnering with families to improve their overall quality of life. Her academic endeavors focus on the evaluation of well-being in a variety of populations, particularly caregivers of children with medical complexity. As an educator, she has held leadership roles in both undergraduate and graduate medical education and has carried out educational scholarship and curriculum development focused on burnout prevention and promotion of well-being of medical trainees. Heidi did her undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed pediatric residency and chief residency at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, California. She then spent six years as an attending pediatrician at a federally qualified health center in San Jose, California, with a faculty appointment at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Kloster then joined University of Texas Southwestern as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and served as the Medical Director of the Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence at Children’s Health System of Texas from 2014-2020 prior to returning to her home state of Wisconsin.
