Background

About Hela Hammami

Graduated in Rural Engineering, Water Management, and Forestry; I developed a strong foundation in understanding the environmental problems related to flood protection, water management, land conservation and forest management. My particular interest in environmental management originates from my internship in the National Center of Mapping and Remote Sensing of Tunisia. I focused on the environmental impacts of unconscious urban expansion. I previously worked as an hydraulic engineer in a consulting office and in collaboration with the National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia. The main objective of my mission is to evaluate hydrological models efficiency by improving data quality, control surface water management and interaction with local communities susceptible to water scarcity. Currently, I'm a PhD researcher at Technical University of Dresden and UNU-FLORES, Germany. The aim of my research is to conduct a conceptual framework for adjusting agricultural water management to the impacts of both current and expected climate change and to increase food security by predictive irrigation management.
