About Helen Becker

Throughout my career in education—as an Academic Dean, Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, and English teacher—I've had the privilege of guiding students and educators toward excellence. My career has been driven by one purpose: to create learning environments where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to pursue their college and career aspirations. Most recently, I have served as the Academic Dean at IMPACT Early College High School in Goose Creek CISD, following several years as a secondary-level Assistant Principal. My work has spanned instructional leadership, teacher coaching, and school improvement through data-driven practices. I’ve collaborated with educators to translate research into actionable strategies, helping schools close achievement gaps and raise expectations for all learners. I hold a Doctorate in Education from Texas A&M University, with a focus on curriculum and instruction. My research explored how targeted curriculum interventions can shift students’ perceptions of college readiness—especially among at-risk populations. As I transition into retirement, I remain deeply connected to the mission of equitable education. My journey has taken me across cities and continents—from Houston to Seattle, England to Russia—but the heart of my work has always remained the same: building schools where students believe in their futures.
