About Helen Blower

There has never been a time like this in the UK hospitality. We have an opportunity to reshape the culture for our people, and finally deliver professionalisation of careers. At House of St Barnabas, we are dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness and tackling Good Work in Born and raised in Bahrain, I spent quite a bit of my young life in airports and hotels, and I always wanted to walk through the door marked ‘Private’. I managed to avoid any major security incidents, but I have worked in hotels for most of my adult life – I love making people happy, be they employees, guests or investors. I'm a business planning specialist, with a strategic and open-minded approach to strategy, and I thrive on finding creative and innovative solutions. Food & beverage is an enduring passion; the constant challenge of providing vibrancy alongside consistency. Outside work I’ll be found with a book in my hand, or possibly a spoon, or possibly both. I love whisky and wine, and I am lucky to deem these ‘professional’ interests. I also volunteer at a local library (please use your local library – they mustn’t die!) and do some mentoring of young women new into the professional world.
