About Helen Doyle

During my career, I have had an ongoing interest in research with experience in pre-clinical and clinical areas. This has culminated in completion of my part-time PhD (2011) resulting in many transferable skills such as project proposals, ethics, practical experiment work, scientific writing, journal/conference submissions and overall project management. Having previously worked in Quality Assurance, I am conversant with regulatory requirements and have a meticulous work ethic. My current career is in clinical perfusion,(cardiac surgery). Since 1998 at Papworth Hospital, I worked my way from trainee to deputy perfusion management, maintaining clinical responsibilities and conducting research culminating in my PhD in nitric oxide diffusion utilising an in vitro experimental membrane oxygenator circuit and haemoglobin-based-oxygen-carriers (artificial blood), I relocated to Clinical Perfusion in Southampton expanding my role into paediatric cardiac surgery and a new liver perfusion technique for ocular melanoma hepatic metastases. My career interests are in either a research based field or clinical perfusion.
