As a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, Helen is trained and experienced in helping people explore their interpersonal style using the therapy relationship as a template. Assuming the existence of an unconscious, where appropriate she works closely with each individual to determine patterns and blocks that get in the way of clear thinking. She aims to help people accurately reflect on their inner world thereby resolving long-standing personality problems and concerns. Helen sees people who present with the following problems; depression and mood disturbance, sleep problems, sexual issues or desire for greater sexual/sensual pleasure, difficulty tolerating intimacy and building relationships, self-destructive thoughts and behaviours, impulsive behaviours, difficulty tolerating anger and frustration, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders & body image concerns, addictions, obsessions and compulsions and dealing with midlife transition and other life stages. In addition Helen has a particular interest in and understanding of the creative process. She is passionate about working with artists, musicians, writers, performers and anyone open to living a more creative life to heal blocks to creative expression, build confidence and to find ways to express personal meaning in a symbolic way. She works with adolescents, adults and groups to address a range of issues, trauma and/or personality problems. Helen also works with couples who wish to resolve conflict and gain or regain greater intimacy and sexual connection. Helen provides supervision for therapists and allied health. Helen also does work under TAC, Worksafe, Victims of Crime, Non-Directive Pregnancy Related Counselling, Bushfire Recovery Scheme, NDIS (Not a registered provider). She offers phone and telehealth services.
