About Helen Labbate

MSc Risk Management and PIIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) Experienced Risk and Controls leader across all lines of defence. I am Deputy Director for Research and Information at ORX. ORX is the largest operational risk management association in the world. Since 2002, we’ve been developing a global community of financial institutions committed to improving the management and measurement of operational and non-financial risk. Owned and driven by our member institutions, we bring together hundreds of operational risk professionals to share their knowledge, expertise and experience in the financial services industry. We are a not-for-profit industry association incorporated in Geneva, Switzerland. I am an expert in Operational and Conduct Risk, most recently leading 1st line of defence risk management teams for Nationwide Building Society. I also set up and led the Society's first dedicated Digital Risk Team. I work collaboratively with senior stakeholders, building relationships and developing high performing teams. I am a passionate, inclusive and collaborative people leader and was an Annual Awards finalist for People Leader of the Year 2019.
