Hi, I'm Helen — and I don't believe in the word "strategy." It was founded on war language, and business is not war. Business is art. Beautiful, agonising at times, art. I believe in love-based marketing, not loud-based. Great ideas deserve great stories told well to a great audience. I'm a creative marketing and business development consultant, storyteller, visual and performing artist and founder of GRIT in the Oyster LTD. I'm also an associate trainer with The Entrepreneurs Academy in Dublin and Corporate Trainer with Baldoyle ETB as well as a consultant with Evolve. I run a creative studio in Wicklow called GRIT. GRIT exists for two reasons: To create better stories that are formed by THINKING deeply. To create a better community by making businesses more resilient and creative. We do this through Marketing and Business Development consultancy, Creative Storytelling and Drawing Workshops, Retreats in the Woods, and our community 'Make Your Message'. Our signature offering is The Natural Business Reset — I invented it to begin reframing the language we use in business. I'm still working on a small book about the power of language in business development. I also perform comedy, paint, do voiceovers for film and TV and write. These aren't hobbies—they're fuel. Creative partners to the consulting work. This confuses the bejeepers out of people sometimes, but they soon accept me. In Marketing Consultancy, we love working with small businesses with a big heart to match their ambitions, and they care about the earth, their communities and about making beautiful products and services. Usually, our clients are widening their ambitions or taking a big leap. I've spent the last 25 years discovering and implementing creative ways to do business. I cut my teeth in the Arts - theatre, jazz music and comedy marketing and production. Then I moved to working on gorgeous digital marketing campaigns with larger brands and award-winning advertising agencies. In the past decade, I've been helping founders, business owners, organisations, and creatives shape their voice, sharpen their impact, and stretch into what's next—creating strategies and practical roadmaps for future building.
