Background

About Helen Rowe

With 20 years experience in transport and urban policy, strategy, consulting and research, I am a passionate innovator working to create sustainable cities and transport systems. As the Transport Lead at Climateworks Centre, I head up our work with government and industry stakeholders across the country to define a pathway and action plan to move transport to zero emissions, including recent work on freight decarbonisation and transport decarbonisation modelling. I am in the final stages of my PhD in Systems Change in Sustainable Transport at RMIT University and have a Master of Environment from the University of Melbourne, where I explored innovative practices and tools that forward-thinking city planners can use to make change happen. I have led several award-winning projects and held leadership roles in government and consulting, focusing on critical urban and transport challenges. I am an experienced public speaker, strategist and facilitator, and regular contributor on sustainable transport in Australian cities.
