About Helen Smith

I established my own immigration law firm in early 2020, with the aim of creating a distinct market offering for immigration clients, focused on a flexible and responsive service. My clients include private individuals, founders and entrepreneurs, investors and corporates, with a focus on the tech sector. My experience includes the full range of family and business immigration, Brexit-related matters, Global Talent visa applications in tech, science and the arts, plus immigration appeals and global mobility for multinationals. I have expertise in the tech sector and regularly help UK start-ups and scale-ups to navigate the UK’s immigration system to access the world-leading talent they need. I help businesses at all stages of development with Tier 2 licence applications so they can sponsor workers, including in the digitech shortage occupations. I advise founders on immigration options, which could be a Tech Nation Global Talent application for recognition as a world leader in digital technology or an Innovator application for those bringing with them investment capital. Having lived in Spain and Ecuador, I speak Spanish to a high level. I write and update immigration know-how materials for Lexis PSL's immigration service and used to write and research for the Practical Law Company.
