About Helena Baka
I primarily have work experience in the retail & sales/customer service field, but as a 2021 MIAD alum, I am always open to and looking for creative opportunities that line up more with my BFA such as freelance work and commissions, teaching, graphic design, and administrative, assistant, or curatorial roles in studio or gallery spaces. I am a painter who explores my relationship with girlhood, femininity, and personal experiences to put together complex visual works mixed in with 3D and sculptural elements. My work has previously been shown in Var Gallery in Milwaukee, WI, Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, IL, and I was previously one of the three artists selected for the 2021-22 Plum Blossom Initiative artist cohort. I’m a fast learner and dedicated worker and have experience in some graphic design work and social media content creation. I am proficient in using Adobe Suite products, Microsoft, and Google Workspace apps. I always have new ideas to bring, especially in the creative department!
