About Helena Lorenc

Career Counselor & Lecturer empowering individuals to unlock career opportunities. I help not only young professionals and women who wish to transit into IT build meaningful futures by guiding them through career development, personal growth, and self-discovery. As a Career Counselor, Lecturer, Youth Mentor, and Founder of Buď aktivní — the largest online database of student opportunities in the Czech Republic — I focus on youth empowerment and helping students navigate their next steps with confidence. With over 8 years of experience in career counseling, I support high school and university students in: Career planning and goal setting, Personal branding and employability skills, CV writing, job interview preparation & transition to workforce, Exploring international opportunities, mobility programs and study abroad pathways. My passion lies in non-formal education, experiential learning, and educational program design. For more than 7 years, I have been lecturing and designing workshops, training programs, and learning experiences focused on project management, skills development, career readiness, and youth leadership. I mentor young people and help them realize their potential both inside and beyond the classroom. My research focuses on Reverse Culture Shock among university students. My global experiences — from studying in South Korea to volunteering in the UK and Nepal, an Erasmus+ traineeship in the Netherlands, and conducting research in Bosnia and Herzegovina — continuously shape my perspective on education, culture, and youth development. I have experience in: Writing articles and newsletters Designing, organizing, and facilitating online and in-person workshops & trainings for diverse groups (students, adults, international staff) Drafting research articles Managing websites and social media Coordinating events, mentoring and student programs, and youth projects Basics of data analytics Developing international projects (KA2HE & ESC) and project management Building partnerships in higher education Community building I am interested in EdTech and innovation in education.
