About Helene Baigent

Over the course of my career I have taken a diverse range of challenging roles accumulating experience in research, the veterinary industry, and health care. My ability to thrive in a wide range of environments has both proven and developed my communication skills and adaptability in the workplace. While working as a veterinarian at the beginning of my career I developed a passion for evidence based decision making. This has not only been a useful attribute I drew on to complete my masters in epidemiology, but I have also enjoyed applying this to my current role working in business development and strategy. Skills: • Clinically and managerially experienced and qualified with in excess of ten years in data analysis and service planning • Experienced in the supervision and management of staff at various grades • Business competent in terms of management and understanding the need to provide value for money. • Extensive strategic planning experiencing involving the prioritization of mission, vision, and values of the institute. • Master’s degree in Veterinary Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine and the Royal Veterinary College • Understanding and knowledge of culture in the Middle East gained from 5 years working in a small animal veterinary practice and 3 years working for Hamad Medical Corporation • A team leader and a team player able to manage and organize own and others’ workloads • Self-starter and motivated in my chosen career
