About Hemil Ganatra

I'm an architect with having done my final year Design Thesis being around a Recovery Centre for Mentally Ill patients. Also parallelly researched on alternate compact space solutions for the Indian housing segment using pre-fabrication techniques in vision with the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2022'. My interests in the field of architecture include compact space living, urban sustainability, low cost housing, institutional-scale designing and project management. My conviction is that architecture is nothing but an architect's true expression of oneself, it always has been this way; contrary to the rudimentary school of thought which urges otherwise. Besides academics, since 2017 I have been providing graphic design solutions for FMCG brands under Procter & Gamble as a freelancer, have co-edited the book "School Design Thinking" published in 2019 and have written 3 published articles on architecture related subjects like Contemporary architecture and Void Activation in Urban playscape etc. Being an avid public speaker, I've represented my institute and university as debater, moderator and master of ceremonies between 2016 and 2020. Outside all the work, what I'm also passionate about, is the game of cricket. Having represented the Oman national cricket team for 4 years between 2013-17 and been a part of the U25 Saurastra state team camp for season 2021-22. Currently, building ModRoof at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
