About Hendrix Kalanje

Hendrix Kalanje is a seasoned program management professional with track record in program design, implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Chancellor College of the University of Malawi (2013), and a Master of Science in Management Studies from the Malawi Institute of Management (2022). Professionally, he holds a certificate in Program Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro) and Certificate in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) both from APMG International, UK. He also has a certificate in Child Protection and Advocacy from World Vision International Technical Academy, and a certificate in Advanced Leadership from Haggai International. An all-round development practitioner with over 8 years’ progressive experience in Development, Gender and Social Inclusion, Child Sponsorship, Child Protection and Participation, Advocacy, Program Budget Management, Organizational Leadership and Management. He has worked with World Vision Malawi as a Sponsorship Development Facilitator, Area Program Team Leader, District Sponsorship Coordinator, and currently as Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for the North Centre Zone, which has 11 administrative districts. At World Vision Malawi, he supported the development, popularization and implementation of FY21 – FY25 strategy, which seeks to directly impact on the sustained well-being of 2 million vulnerable boys and girls through supporting and collaborative building of resilient and sustainable community systems and contribute to the improved well-being of 4.2 million children through strategic advocacy for policy and practice change. Skilled in MS packages (word, excel, publisher), report writing, documentation of lessons learned/Most Significant Change Stories/Success Stories/Impact Stories, and experience in Data Cleaning, Data Validation, Beneficiary Validation, Monitoring visits, Data Quality Audits, Assessment, Baseline, Evaluation Surveys, LQAS, Annual Community Review and Planning Process (ACRP), Learning and Reflection Meetings. He has excellent skills in data collection tools such as ODK collect, KOBO toolbox, statistical analysis using Excel, SPSS & STATA and strong data analysis skills. He is also familiar with International organizations monitoring and evaluation requirements. He was awarded the Best Team Leader and Best Area Program Team awards in 2019 and 2020 respectively for his exceptional performance in program and sponsorship management.
