About Henning Gaardsted

I have many years of management experience, working with global, industrial customers across all modes of transport, and I have worked from both sides of the table, solving logistical challenges. Taking ownership and being accountable motivates me, regardless if manager, project manager or another specialist position, and I am strongly motivated by making a difference for my company. I thrive in the environment of transport and logistics in a dynamic, international company with the adherent challenges and opportunities. Working for Siemens Gamesa tremendously expanded my industrial insight across the value chain of a global manufacturing company, as part of the project organization. Project work with wind turbines is highly complex with multiple stakeholders and priorities involved. Various degrees of chaos is more or less inevitable, as unforeseen changes to the plan and incidents occur on a regular basis. Part of the work was negotiating terms and conditions for project logistics contracts; both before contracts were signed, at clarification meetings, when negotiating and selecting logistics providers, during project execution, and after projects were finished, settling disputes and accounting. Continuous improvement and cost savings are always on the agenda, as competition is hard and margins small. Working in Billund Airport has given me further experience into contract management, safety and quality management, compliance, training and many other "back office" functions of ground handling services in an airport. I am loyal, dedicated, positive, trustworthy and reliable, and my colleagues know me as a good team player and a helpful person. I have well developed interpersonal skills, and I communicate effortlessly and respectfully across the organization, regardless of level and position.
