About Henning Groll

Doing now what patients need next: I deliver novel FDA and IVD regulated medical devices to patients and healthcare providers using my core competencies of system development and integration, and defining and managing critical interfaces at the juncture of life sciences, physical sciences, and engineering. I am an experienced team leader as well as functional manager in a matrix organization. I directed the System Integration department (> 40 professionals) at Roche Tissue Diagnostics to drive new and secure existing revenue streams, improve product cost position and meet profitability expectations. I advocate for external and internal innovation to address current and future market opportunities and manage internal and external alliances. I take particular pride in having mentored many scientists and engineers to meet their career and development objectives. My product development experience leading cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams ranges from reagent and assay, mass-produced blood glucose test strips, mathematical algorithms, measurement methods and equipment, fluidics, electro-mechanics, and process design to software. I have been part of major product launches and am familiar with all aspects of the life cycle of in-vitro diagnostic systems. I am a hands-on innovator and strategic thinker, currently holding 21 patents (INPADOC families) with 8 in on-market products generating >$ 1B annual sales.
