About Henri Honkonen

I’m technology generalist, skilled software developer, hardware geek and team leader. Learning and experimenting new things with can-do attitude really drives me. I’ve always been fascinated of technology and how things are built. It's not unusual for me to check what's under the hood, whether its software or hardware. Managing the big picture is my thing and I like to think big. By questioning old habits, I try to find new ways to improve things. I’m very interested of digital platforms in technical and economic sense. I think that there is a lot to achieve, especially in more conservative industries, with digital platforms. My deep expertise builds on Edge computing in industrial, automation and robotic applications, electronics, measurement technologies and product development. I thrive when I can combine digital and physical worlds together, creating solutions that make our life easier and more efficient while enabling new businesses emerging from the digitalization. Being Head of Product Development and original inventor of Kontram OverSight™, our own Industrial Edge computing and IIoT platform, provides me the opportunity to vary my daily activities from software development to product management to coaching my team. Ranging from hands on coding using Python and C# with Docker containers on Linux, to planning roadmaps and architecture of serverless Azure Cloud services, to productizing new measurement and control solutions utilizing the OverSight™ platform. On free time I enjoy reading books about leadership, business development and strategy, listening cyber security podcasts, watching malware analysis or hacking videos and trying new technologies with my robots’ software stack. And when I need relaxing, I go to fatbiking to woods.
