About Henrik Formoe

I'm a psychology and computer science student at the University of Oslo, with a previous background in the Norwegian film industry. My research interests lie at the intersection of cognitive neuroscience and machine learning. I'm particularly interested in functions such as vision, perception, memory, and decision-making – in sum, how we experience and process the world around us – and the disruption of these processes by conditions like stroke, dementia, and various mental illnesses. I'm also passionate about improving research methods and scientific practices, which I see as the foundation for rigorous, cutting-edge science. This means not only gathering more data, but also thinking critically about how to better use the data we have. My exchange studies in Japan, Australia, and the US, in addition to my time in Norway, have broadened my perspective on different approaches to these questions. At the core of my work is an interest in how psychology, neuroscience, and technology come together to deepen our understanding of human interaction with the world.
