About Henry Achiron

During my almost 30 years of practicing law I have worked for both plaintiff and defense firms. The defense firms have included both insurance carrier in house firms and outside counsel firms. I have been the senior trial counsel for several firms, including the in-house counsel firms for Hartford, Travelers, Crum & Forster and Empire insurance companies. I have also tried cases for North Carolina Farm, Andover, AIG, Allstate, Liberty Mutual and Security Mutual. I have also given lectures to several insurance company claims departments on the handling and trial of various types of cases including automobile, premises and Labor Law in New York State. In addition, I was a presenter of a CLE program at the Brooklyn Bar Association on the proper handling of a defense case from receipt of the assignment of the matter from the insurance carrier through the completion of the trial. In addition, over the course of my career, at each firm that I have worked I have been involved in the training and supervision of other associates and law clerks / paralegals. In addition at two firms (Stockfield & Fixler and Becker & Achiron) I was the Managing Attorney responsible for all aspects of the running of a law office. At The Law Office of Kevin Kelly I was in charge of the Brooklyn team for the in house counsel firm of Empire Insurance Co at a time when it had the largest calendar in Kings County. At Mintzer, Sarowitz, et al I was one of the three people responsible for the management of the NYC office of a multi-state law firm. During my years of practice I have always handled cases from inception to trial in addition to other duties and responsibilities. It is this diverse experience, including substantial trial experience as both a plaintiff and a defendant that, I believe makes me uniquely qualified in this area. I have firsthand knowledge of how both plaintiff firms and insurance carriers evaluate, negotiate, handle and try cases.
