About Henry Begner

I’m a highly experienced and talented program manager and licensed, clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC), Addictions Specialist (LCASA) with a unique and diverse background in program development, program management, crisis response, wilderness/adventure therapy and formal clinical community mental health treatment. My achievements include-Serving in a managerial capacity as assistant team lead for a large, high fidelity Assertive Community Treatment team-managing a team including nurses, psychiatrists, vocational specialists, addictions counselors, therapists and housing specialists to serve over 100 high acuity clients with psychotic disorders and severe comorbidity-Developing and managing a therapeutic wilderness program for an addictions based residential treatment center, leading monthly programs for adolescent addiction populations-Developing/managing a comprehensive mental health treatment program for Chaffee county detention center, facilitating assessment, crisis management, individual and group counseling-Owning/operating my own private practice and custom therapeutic wilderness program in Buena Vista, CO. My primary therapeutic orientation and training from Naropa University focuses on mindfulness based interventions incorporating trauma informed and somatic processing based therapies to engage my clients’ hearts, minds and bodies in order to bring about a positive, transformative experience of growth and personal development.
