Background
About Henry Martin
With over 8 years of experience in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, I am passionate about developing innovative solutions to support the sustainability of energy and transportation systems. My current research focuses on using graph-based deep learning models to predict traffic in cities, which has applications in mobility, transportation, and the planning of smart and sustainable cities. I am currently a post-doc at the Chair for Geoinformation Engineering at ETH Zürich, one of the leading research institutions in the world. As a researcher at the Institute of Advanced Research in Artificial Intelligence (IARAI), I have been using graph-based deep learning models to predict traffic in cities, and co-organizing the NeurIPS traffic forecasting competitions in 2020, 2021, and 2022. These competitions have attracted hundreds of participants from academia and industry, and have generated novel and impactful solutions for urban planning and transportation. I have also leveraged my skills in data analysis, probabilistic modelling, and stochastic optimization to work on projects related to power trading and electricity market at Fraunhofer IWES. I enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and learning from diverse perspectives and experiences.
