About Henry May

Mr. May is a Director at Post Oak Energy Capital ("Post Oak") where he focuses on originating, managing and monetizing control private equity investments in the energy space. Prior to joining Post Oak, Mr. May was an Executive Director at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co.(“TPH”), an integrated investment and merchant bank focused on the energy industry. While at TPH, Mr. May advised oil and gas companies and their stakeholders on acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, public and private capital raises and other strategic initiatives. Mr. May’s advisory engagements were focused on E&P companies with assets in the major North American conventional and unconventional plays with additional exposure to international E&P, midstream and oilfield services. Prior to joining TPH in 2011, Mr. May worked in a similar capacity at Barclays Capital and its advisory group’s predecessor, Lehman Brothers. Prior to attending graduate school and joining Barclays Capital, Mr. May worked as a Solutions Engineer at Grant Prideco which was acquired by National Oilwell Varco in 2007. As a Solutions Engineer, Mr. May focused on the development and application of downhole tools for the global oil and gas marketplace. Mr. May was an integral part of the development of oilfield drill bits tailored for directional drilling applications and has co-authored papers for the Society of Petroleum Engineers and American Association of Drilling Engineers on the subject. Mr. May received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a Sord Scholar and Deans Award recipient.
