About Henry Rivers

Throughout my time at the University of Portsmouth, I consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, resilience, and a commitment to achieving the best possible grades. Whether tackling challenging coursework, engaging in group projects, or pursuing extracurricular activities, I approached every task with a sense of responsibility and determination. I have many good memories throughout my academic journey, including when I was selected to represent my university at a social event at The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in London. Other good times include when I met Sarosh Zaiwalla at a social event, worked with the CPS for a work experience day, and provided free legal advice weekly at the UoP General Legal Advice Clinic. With that all in mind, these are just a handful of experiences that have enabled me to become confident, expand my knowledge, and essentially grow as a person. I believe that success comes not only from talent but also from a willingness to put in the effort required to overcome obstacles. I strive to push myself beyond my comfort zone and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. As such, my dedication to my studies and personal growth has shaped me into a hardworking and reliable individual, eager to take on new challenges Outside of my qualifications and my pursuit of becoming a solicitor, I love fitness and have even helped others and close friends to start in the gym and work on their nutrition. I go to the gym regularly and was even Invited by the President of the Bodybuilding Society to join the club whilst at University. I continue to appreciate every passing day by choosing to work on both my future and my mind and body every day. Additionally, i love simple hobbies like reading, traveling, spending time with my pets, and sometimes learning a new language like Japanese. Previous jobs include past work experience at Cain Amusements where I showed great initiative, articulation, money handling, and exemplary customer service for over seven years on and off due to university. Additionally, i worked at the CO-OP in Portsmouth as a baker whereby over time, I grew accustomed to the fast-paced nature of the role, where early mornings and long hours became the norm for me.
