About Henry Washington

Experienced educator who has served as coach, mentor and a proven fund raiser. With a Master's Degree in Sports Administration, I have coached, organized sports leagues and instituted sports programs for over 35 years. Prior to teaching and coaching, I played basketball and baseball (All-Conference Infielder) for Concordia College. After matriculating Concordia College, I transferred to Oakland University where I was also an All Conference Infielder. After earning my Bachelors Degree in Journalism from Oakland University, I played professionally in the Detroit Tigers Minor League System. With a Masters Degree in Sports Administration and years of being an instructor of wellness at the college level, I understand the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices and how the dimensions of wellness are vital in a well society. To better get the message across I will performing Personal Training session at LA Fitness. To Continue in athletics I will serve as Athletic Director at Detroit Community Schools and Director of Reaching Urban Ballplayers Sports Management R.U.B. In those roles I will continue to expose our youngsters to positive athletic participation while helping them understand how athletics and academics can serve you well in all areas of life.
