Executive Scientist within the BAE Systems Air Sector Research & Technology team; championing research for the company. Member of the Strategic Advisory Board for the UK National Quantum Technology Programme. Member of the Executive Committee for the UKQUANTUM Industry Group. Company role covers a wide range of technologies with emphasis in sensing integration and EO & photonics for harsh environments. Emphasis of exploitation is within BAE Systems Air Sector but also with a wider remit to include other business units of BAE Systems. Particular areas covered include: EO sensor technologies, novel imaging systems, quantum sensing, multi-sensor system integration, data and image processing, high power lasers, fibre optic digital communications,optical wireless communications and underwater optical systems. Also the Engineering Lead for the BAE Systems UK Sport Partnership, looking at cross domain opportunities to exploit technology to advantage for Team GB. This work requires close interaction with university research groups and component suppliers. Co-chair of the SPIE Advanced Free-Space Optical Communication Techniques and Applications Conferences: Successful realisation achieved through the application of strong interpersonal skills, building trusted relationships at all levels.
