About Henryk Chan

I am an engineer and researcher specializing in biomedical engineering, bioelectronics, and medical device innovation. I am currently an MRes student in Medical Device Design and Entrepreneurship at Imperial College London, and will soon begin my PhD in Bioelectronics at the University of Cambridge. My academic journey includes a First-Class BEng in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering from the University of Sheffield, as well as research and an exchange at the National University of Singapore, where I worked on wearable biosensors and wireless ECG systems in leading labs. My research has resulted in peer-reviewed publications and a patent in medical devices. Alongside my academic work, I am the founder of a technology startup focused on digital platforms and medical device innovation. I have hands-on experience in electrochemical biosensing, microfluidics, 3D printing, cell culture, and programming (Swift, Python, LaTeX, HTML, MATLAB, C, C++ etc). Currently, my work focuses on wearable ultrasound sensing and machine learning for next-generation prosthetic control, aiming for fully wearable, patient-centred solutions. I am passionate about bridging engineering and clinical needs to advance personalised, accessible healthcare.
