About Herman Walter

As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Six Sigma Master Black Belt, I have spent the last decade focused on the improvement of business, project management and engineering processes at the business unit and corporate levels. I have experience in machine design, engineering management, project management and Six Sigma. I was trained as an internal auditor by Lloyd’s Register and was responsible for documenting engineering and project management processes to achieve ISO 9001 certification. My Six Sigma training drives my passion for training/mentoring others and properly obtaining the Voice of the Customer. This has resulted in being fortunate enough to obtain international experience working with both internal and external customers. Two short-term assignments in Shanghai, China focused on mentoring engineers and project managers. At CLIMAX Portable Machining and Welding Systems, I am responsible for managing the development and production of various equipment to meet project requirements. I am developing project and resource management best practices to assist management. At TE Connectivity, I was responsible for revising their Six Sigma training, including a complete rewrite of the Voice of the Customer training. In addition, I developed interactive training modules and job aids as a member of the Corporate Technology Project Management Office (PMO). I have conducted training in Asia and Europe in the following areas: • Voice of the Customer Process • Statistical Analysis • Problem Solving • Lean Tools • Project Management Fundamentals • Microsoft Project/Project Server Being detailed oriented has assisted me to become an efficient structured problem solver. This attention to detail, specifically in understanding the Voice of the Customer and the Voice of the Business, allows me to focus on the critical items to achieve customer satisfaction. Helping others resolve critical issues is a great source of personal satisfaction.
