Hermann Colas, Jr, the Founder of COLAS Construction, Inc, has transferred his duties of running the business to Andrew J. Colas, President, Aneshka L. Colas Dickson, Chief Financial Officer and Alexander S. Colas who recently joined the Management Team. Hermann, formerly the Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of COLAS, has actively participated in the daily functions of the company since 1997. Prior to his service at COLAS Construction, Hermann served over 20 years in various roles at Pacific Northwest Bell which later became USWEST. He controlled and managed very large budgets for equipment planning and deployment in the Portland metro area. He later became a regional manager for Global Positioning Systems (GPS) deployment in the US WEST territory that included thirteen states. He served on the American National Standard Institute and represented the standards for US WEST's deployment of GPS. He occupied many subsequent positions during his career that helped strengthen his ability to lead and effectively communicate with project team members. Through his early investments in real estate rentals and renovations, he learned to assess the risks involved in modern construction projects. His entrepreneurial spirit and these experiences led him to the ultimate formation of his own construction firm.Hermann entered the world of construction with a strong background that propelled COLAS to be counted among the premier companies in Portland. Through Hermann's impact in the industry, COLAS started to be involved in larger residential projects that included sub-division developments.Hermann’s leadership and service in the community positioned the company to grow, and the marked growth in commercial construction and tenant improvements allowed a successful transfer to the next generation. Hermann's new role will be to serve as a consultant for the new team. He will also remain active on many volunteer boards and committees throughout Portland metropolitan area.
