About Hershel Bhat

Hershel Bhat SE PE, is a Senior Structural Engineer at ARCO/Murray with 7 years of experience in repair, restoration, and new design of commercial and residential buildings. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign specializing in Structural Engineering. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois and Professional Engineer in the state of Indiana. Hershel has served as a Project Engineer and/or Project Manger on various projects of scope and size. He has experience in analyzing existing structures for adequacy of new loading or from structural modifications, designing residential and commercial buildings of various materials, and structural rehabilitation of existing historic structures. He has design experience with various materials including steel, concrete, heavy timber, post-tension concrete, masonry, and structural glass. He has extensive knowledge with structural and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, Revit, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, ANSYS, and AutoCAD. Outside of work, he is involved with the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI) Technology Committee. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, traveling, playing musical instruments, and staying active with intramural sports.
